Forever in our Hearts – Signs from Departed Loved Ones

Losing a loved one is one of the most challenging experiences we face in life. However, even though those we have cherished are physically gone, the connection we share with them continues to exist in a different way. Life is eternal, and love is a powerful force that transcends the boundaries of time and space. The love we feel for others, and the love they have for us, is etched in our memories and embedded in our hearts. It leaves an indelible imprint on our Souls that creates an everlasting bond.

Many people report experiencing signs or feeling the presence of those who have passed away. It can be in the form of dreams, synchronicities, or a deep sense of their energy that we detect through our inner-senses. Throughout history, there are numerous accounts of birds showing up as signs from the departed.

Birds are often seen as a bridge between the earthly and the spiritual realms, capable of traversing both worlds.

In ancient Egyptian mythology, the Soul was believed to be able to transform into a bird after death, allowing it to travel freely between the worlds. Native American tribes also hold strong beliefs in birds as spirit guides and messengers from the spirit world.

That was the case with Robert when his close friend Roy sadly passed-away. They first met at the local tennis club playing doubles in sunny California. Even though Roy was playfully flirtatious, Robert loved him in the same way he would a brother. Although their close friendship continued for many years, it became too difficult for Roy to suppress his feelings and as a result, he created a wall between them.

They only met on special occasions with mutual friends. After the celebrations, they would hug and go their separate ways. All of that changed one fateful day when an ambulance rushed Roy to the hospital with a broken neck. After vigorously swimming laps, his body collapsed on the pavement. His head took the brunt of the fall. Even though the boys usually connected a few times a year, Robert visited Roy in the hospital every day until his lungs filled with fluid and he unexpectedly slipped away.

Shocked by the news of his death, Robert reached out to their close friend Sarah. She told Robert that Roy had always been in love with him and carried that flame in his heart for thirty years. It felt right to Sarah that Robert was the best person to adopt his precious Japanese koi. He knew Roy loved his fish and the delightful hummingbirds he fed in his garden daily.

Shortly after his friend passed away, Robert sat peacefully watching tennis on television one evening with his partner John. It was 6.30 pm on a warm summer evening in Los Angeles. The French doors that opened to the courtyard were latched open. Their concentration on the game was interrupted when a hummingbird flew into the living room and landed gracefully on a branch of the bonsai tree on the wooden coffee table. The tiny bird looked at him and remained still, steadfast in its gaze. Bob sensed the delicate creature connecting with him throughout the tennis match.

At 9.30 pm, after waiting for his mysterious visitor to fly away, Robert gently coaxed the bird into the courtyard. Regardless of his efforts, his feathered friend settled in for the night. Robert filled a tiny Japanese teacup with water, placed it next to the plant and retired for the evening.

At 6 am the following morning, the dogs were unusually quiet. Robert walked them into the living area, paused momentarily and gently shook his head. Still nestled in the bonsai tree, the luminous hummingbird, with his eyes closed, rested peacefully. Addressing his little companion as Roy, Robert spoke to him softly for a few minutes, gently encouraging him to jump on his hand. After being fully acknowledged, the winged messenger hopped onto his finger and stayed completely still as Robert walked him into the courtyard. With a final farewell, he merrily flew away.

Occurrences such as this are often interpreted as intentional messages from the deceased, offering us comfort, reassurance or a heart-warming message of gratitude. They serve as a reminder that our loved ones are always with us.

On a Soul level, there is no separation between us. Other than what we create with our thoughts and beliefs.

Robert’s story is a poignant example of how messages from unseen friends can manifest as treasured gifts. His experience is a testament to the eternal nature of life and our profound connection through the power of love. Although Roy’s mind created a fixed boundary in his relationship with Robert in the physical world, his heart knew no separation between them. Love knows no boundaries and has no limits. It sustains our essence and is the foundation of our existence.
